We left home in NorCal, heading to Southern California to visit with my Mom and Sister. In the area that they live, rv parks are few and far between, and most of those are along the Pacific coastline and are in high demand. We have discovered a county park a few miles inland from the coast that fits our needs very well.
In the Spring, the hills are beautiful with green grass and wildflowers and it was tough to keep our faithful canine companion from following her nose into the hinterland!
After a good, but short, visit with family, we headed east into the Arizona desert where we found a quiet spot.
We didn’t have any firewood with us, but it would have been a great place to enjoy an evening fire! The days were warm, without wind, and the nights were cool. Perfect!
We did have to suffer through a couple of desert sunrises, however.
We have been away from home about a week and find ourselves in Tucson, Arizona, at the Lazy Daze KOA. This is a well kept park, very large, with a variety of amenities. Today is the Saturday before Easter and the common areas are busy with Easter egg coloring and rolling contests, Peep raffles, and milkshake stands! Great fun!
We are waiting for an appointment to have upgrades done to one of our trailer slides. In the meantime, we’re running some errands, shopping for a microwave glass plate that somehow jumped out of the microwave and shattered on the floor during our last day’s trip, and having lunch with Dave and Toni, our friends from Michigan.
And then there’s the usual Arizona sunrise to endure….
Next week we will finish up our chores and head farther east. Now that the price of diesel fuel has dropped by a dollar a gallon (no thanks to Cali), we can go on for a few more days! Stay tuned!
