We drove a short distance from Tucson to Buckeye, AZ today, only about 151 miles. We're staying in an RV park (Leaf Verde) that (of course) caters to snowbirds. This will be an "ahh..." stay, because we had a very busy stay in Tucson doing ..... not much of anything.
The site is nice, raked gravel with a palm tree. The neighbors seem to be nice, since we have been approached by 4 different residents asking about either our bicycle rack, our flagpole, or our satellite tv system. The park is run by some nice staff, however we're back to the "take your dog out to the desert" routine. We've been told to make sure that we clean up "immediately or be asked to leave" twice since we've set up this afternoon. Oh well, it's only for 2 nights.
I told the "parker" that my speedometer was not calibrated for 1/2 mile increments, but he didn't see the humor....
There is a very bright spot in the park a few spaces west, though....
a beautiful '55 Chevy from Kansas.
