Yes, Virginia, There Is A…..

Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The first trading post erected at this location in the mid 1600's was built by the French.  In 1697, Jean Baptiste Bissot built the first fortified trading post here. It was rebuilt in 1715 as Fort St. Philippe, and known later as Post Miami.  In 1747 Chief Nicholas found it undermanned and burned it to the ground.  A second Post Miami was built in 1750 and turned  over to the British at the end of the French and Indian War, only to be burned again during Pontiac's Rebellion in 1763. British General "Mad" Anthony Wayne built the first American fort in 1794 that was replaced yet again in the early 1800s.  This fort withstood the siege of 1812. Major John Whistler constructed the final fort in 1816, only to have the fort decommissioned in 1819.

We drove over from Nappanee this morning for an appointment at Crosspoint Cummins in Ft. Wayne.  The folks at Newmar have done all they can to address our concerns, and we're reasonably satisfied with the current status of the motorhome.  Yesterday we spent the day prepping to leave after a full two weeks there, so I didn't post yesterday, because nothing exciting happened.  Unless you consider washing a motorhome exciting. The guys at Crosspoint have diligently worked all afternoon on Nessie to try to find a source for what I think is a lack of power.  So far no luck, but she's scheduled for the big rig dyno machine tomorrow at 7 am, so that will tell the tale.

In the meantime, we're enjoying the hospitality of a Cummins diesel engine dealer in an industrial area, sandwiched between a Kenworth truck dealer and a 24 hour truck stop.  Whooray!  At least we have electricity, and the price is right.
