Bill and I were assigned some honey-do's today. First we set about replacing the kitchen light fixture with the new one purchased Saturday. The instructions said to allow 15 minutes to install the fixture, so since there were two of us working on it, we decided to allow 30 minutes. All told, we had an hour in the project, so either we're getting older and slower, or the instructions are wrong. I choose to believe that the instructions are bogus.....
The new fixture added a bit of zest to the kitchen, and provides a great deal of light.
Our second task was to go shopping with the girls....We started by visiting the campus of 3M Corp, where Bill worked for 30+ years, and did some shopping at the company store. We were able to find $100 worth of 3M products to buy in an effort to subsidize Bill's retirement.
The campus is huge, and several of the buildings are landmarks in the area.
Then it was off to the usual places, Costco, Bed Bath and Beyond, Home Depot and PetSmart. We were so tired after all the shopping we had to stop at Dunn Bros for a cup of coffee.
This is a local coffee company whose drinks rival their big brother S*a*b*c*s. Another large local coffee company is Caribou's, so we'll have to try that soon and do some comparison shopping!
A nice quiet dinner at home tonight capped a busy day. Turns out this was the first home prepared meal we've had in almost a week! We'll do better, I promise.
