On the way to Bemidji a week ago, Nessie and her windshield had an encounter with a rock flung up by a passing truck. The rock left a divot about the size of a quarter, so it was noticeable, and a bit of a distraction when driving, although there are many bug spots that are as big, if not bigger, than that.
A call to our insurance company resulted in a visit from Safelite today to repair the bad spot with a plastic resin procedure. The tech was very knowledgable about this type of repair, and did a wonderful job. He found another small chip and repaired it also, so we're good to go!
While we were waiting for the windshield guy to arrive, we packed up some extra linens that came with the new motorhome and send them home. The fancy bed speed and pillows that the manufacturers provide look nice, but aren't very practical, so we boxed up all the extra stuff, along with some items from the old fifth wheel that we had previously owned, and UPS'd the lot home. The shipping charges were about what the stuff was worth, but at least we don't have to cart it around for the next month.
This afternoon, after windshield repairs, we went to visit Donna's brother and sister-in-law for dinner. Linda prepared a scrumptious dinner of brats, german potato salad, chinese cabbage salad and baked beans. She had Klondike bars for dessert, but we were all to full to have any! Our God-daughter Cara and her husband Bruce joined in the feast, and it was surely good to see them again.
