Today was set aside for preparation to "Exit stage right'. We've by no means seen or done all the things available to do in Colorado Springs, but we need to head on east, and this rv park is making it very easy for us to go. I obviously didn't do my due diligence on this park, or we would never have chosen it. A few miles of driving in the tow car is a small price to pay for a more peaceful area. Oh, well.
We needed to do some laundry, and fill the water tank on the motorhome, and such, so we set about doing our chores. It soon became obvious that a trip to Walmart was in order. On the way, we found Bear Creek Regional Park, which has a fenced, 25 acre dog park, with trails winding throughout and a creek running through a wooded area. Established in 1997, some 90,000 visitors and their dogs visit every year. Sasha had to stop and check it out!
The area closest to the gate is grass, and S had fun running, but she soon had to take off down a trail!
The creek was beautiful and all the water dogs had to check it out. Sasha nosed into the water, but didn't go too far!
After a mile or so walk off-leash, Sasha was beginning to get a bit tuckered, so with a long look at the beautiful mountains in the area, we headed back to civilization.
A little laundry, a little cleaning, and we're off to Kansas tomorrow! It's the beginning of a long haul back to Nessie's birthplace in Indiana for a small bit of work and engine and chassis service. We're looking forward to leaving this particular area of CS, but wishing we could spend more time in the state of Colorado.
