Today was another of those "catchup" days, where we take care of those errands that seem to accumulate. Donna spent several hours cleaning, and I checked oil, tire pressures and such. We needed to make a quick run to Walmart, so we combined that with a stop at the JC Whitney outlet store, which is a primarily online auto parts store. One of their area distribution centers is located about a mile from the rv park, and the only center to have an "outlet" store. We needed a specific size of wrench to do a minor repair, and found just what we wanted (and some other stuff...)
We also included a stop at Caribou Coffee, which is fast becoming our new best coffee shop chain. They have a mocha drink called Campfire Coffee, which, with a little dark chocolate, whipped cream, and sprinkles, is to die for. Their Pumpkin Chai is a seasonal favorite, with good reason, as Donna can tell you.
This evening, after doing laundry and preparing for our next travel day, we enjoyed some conversation with a couple that also are new motorhome owners, coincidently of the same brand as Nessie, although an upgraded model. We shared horror stories and good times for awhile. After dinner, some other neighbors came over and we sat around the campfire sharing experiences of places to see and rv parks to stay at. Newly retired, Jim was a carpenter in the Chicago area, and Kathleen is in the insurance business for 3 more weeks.
We will leave Utica, Illinois, with some sadness, and with fond memories of the Hickory Hollow RV Park. I'll leave you for now with a midwestern sunset:
