One sign takes credit for a rodeo event, a Civil War battlefield (Honey Springs, now closed for renovation), and a country music star.
The other sign references a more recent music idol.
After a trip to the car wash and to Walmart, we drove into downtown. Kinda quiet on a Sunday afternoon!
After spending an exhilarating hour in Checotah, we headed back home. This area is noted for Lake Eufaula, a huge body of water used for recreation and flood control. Housing developments and boating businesses have flourished on the shore of the lake. This particular road sign directing the way to a boat dock caught our eye as we drove along I-40!
We've completed our laundry, cleaning and market chores in Checotah, and have a good feel for central Oklahoma. Wouldn't you know it, though, we just heard about a great restaurant. The Catfish Roundup in Seminole, Oklahoma is a 4 star restaurant just off of I-40 about 65 miles west of here. They also have an rv park adjacent where full hookups only cost $20 a night! Shoulda, woulda, coulda....
