We're in Texas to spend some quality time with some very good friends or ours. Mary and Donna were working "buddies" a few years ago, and formed a friendship outside of work. We didn't meet Roger until a few years ago, but now consider him to be a wonderful friend. Both Mary and Roger are friends that we treasure and take every opportunity we can to see them. They have a beautiful home on the first tee of a great eighteen hole golf course, so Roger is, of course, an avid golfer. Mary made a tee time for us for this morning, so R and I headed off about 9:30, with cool weather and a sunny day!
Roger is a member at the course, and some perks come with that. Besides virtually unlimited golf, he also enjoys being able to walk to the clubhouse and pickup a cart, which he did this morning before I arrived, so it was a no-muss, no-fuss start! While we were golfing, Mary and Donna went off to spend a "girls day out", shopping, pedicuring, and lunching. A good time was had by all!
Here's a look back toward the eighteenth green from Roger and Mary's backyard. Just to the left, a Foursome was preparing to tee off. Fall is setting in and the grass is starting to show some stress, but it is much greener than my camera makes it appear.
To the west, looking down the first fairway. It's a long, long, long, way down there…..
