Florida's Space Coast

We left Hollywood, Florida, this morning at about 10, and arrived in Titusville at 3:30 pm, after a 207 mile trip north on I-95. This has got to rank near the very top of easy, pleasant, flat drives we've ever enjoyed. We averaged 10.5 mpg on the trip, which is also near the top of our average, so it was all in all a pleasant drive.

We are settled into space 287 at Willow Lakes Golf and RV Resort, just north of Titusville, in the village of Mims. This is a posh resort with owned lots that is mostly empty this time of year. During the off season, if lot owners agree, the resort rents their lots to us "transients". They also offer Passport America discounts, so our daily rate is $24. A real steal since we're within feet of the ninth green, is a beautifully landscaped lot. Unfortunately the wifi is nonexistent at best, and ATT is marginal, so this post may be sporadic.

After our arrival at Willow Lakes, we drove into Titusville to a dog park at Marina Park. Sasha has been cooped up far too long, and needed some running time! A bottle of water for her and an orange ball did the trick, but the temp was in the high 80's, so both Donna and Sasha found some shade!

This is the Space Coast, with the Kennedy Space Center the main attraction. A short drive along the oceanfront got us to a photo of the Vehicle Assembly Building.

We have plans to visit the Space Center, and the beaches north of Canaveral while we're here. Let's hope that works out!
